Future Foods is the latest exhibition at the Antenna Gallery at the Science Museum. It explores whether GM foods should be included on the menu as a possible solution for the world food crisis - or will it just give our planet food poisoning?
To bring the exhibition to life and communicate the case for and against GM, complex information needed to be presented in an accessible and exciting format. Stylo’s museum expert, Michael Wilson, worked with The Moule Partnership (the Museum fit-out specialists) to produce the spectacular graphics demanded.
The exhibition included over 80 graphics panels – including many over 7m long and 3m high! Smaller, print-wrapped panels were layered onto free-standing walls to give a textured effect for an unusual presentation of the food facts. Some panels were printed onto special edge-lit acrylic which glows under the gallery’s fluorescent lighting, making them amazingly attention–grabbing.
The dramatic use of digital transparencies on to polycarbonate adds the final zest to a thought-provoking exhibition.
Future Foods runs 17th Dec 2008 to 31st May 2009.
