SPRING IS HERE! JONES BOOTMAKER INSTALL SS12 GRAPHICS
The story of Jones Bootmaker began in 1857 when Alfred Jones and his wife Emma, opened a footwear shop in Bayswater, London. He was one of the first traders to install electric lighting in his shop, and many people flocked to the store to witness this new phenomenon.
Alfred and Emma Jones went on to have nine sons who all went into the shoe trade, opening their own stores under the name of A Jones & Sons. These stores led the field by introducing stocks of ready-made shoes in 3 different widths and started a tradition in shoe fitting.
Following the Second World War expansion continued with the opening of a large warehouse in Eastbourne, and the acquisition of new stores and modernisation of branches. Throughout the expansion the ideals of a family business with a long standing reputation for quality care and fitting was maintained.
The Stylo installation team journeyed out to Derby, Liverpool, High Wycombe and Newbury, to update the store graphics with the new SS12 imagery. The graphics play a key feature in each of the stores, taking prominence in the windows. They therefore have to be printed onto either magnet or fabric so it is easy to update them each season.
The Newbury store proved quite a challenge as the graphics had to be installed at night, and were very high up. The team had to use a Cherry Picker in order to get high enough to install them and worked into the night. Despite this it all went smoothly! The other three stores were simple to install as the graphics sit in the window beds.
The new SS12 graphics are simple yet effective, combining the key trends for the season and showcasing what they do best.
